We had another session on kicking tonight, this time we had a "play" with some of the "other" kicks.... axe kick, crescent kicks, hook kick, spinning heel kick etc.
These kicks are useful in some competition areas, and they are a good form of exercise. Something else happened too.... everyone enjoyed messing around with the spinning kicks, and when we came to do back kick they found it much easier to grasp the spin and turn movement.
Almost a case of learning by stealth!
We finished the class by looking at the use of kicks for defending against other kicks, and also to use them as sweeps and throws close-in.
