I think this needs further research, if martial arts are for health we need to train healthily. Of course that means doing the right exercise!

Interesting view, but what he says about extreme athletes (ulta-marathoners, extreme endurance competitors) makes sense - as does the idea that rest and recuperation are as important as exercising is.
